A little late with this, trying to catch back up while watching the coverage of the manhunt in Watertown; in any event, here is the breakdown of time for Smackdown from Friday, April 12, 2013!
As explained in my first “Earning Your Spot” post, here is the time breakdown for WWE’s Main Event from Wednesday, April 10th.
Anyone who follows wrestling news on the Internet probably has read at least one story dealing with the resentment felt by a member of the WWE’s regular roster toward the “part-timers” such as the Rock, Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and, to a lesser degree, the Undertaker, regarding their roles at Wrestlemania 29. The argument (voiced most recently by Dolph Ziggler, I believe), is that the individuals who show up every week are the foundation of the company and that their work should be rewarded by a prominent spot on the Wrestlemania card. Instead, you have guys like Rock, Lesnar, Triple H, and the Undertaker who are absent the majority of the year but end up in each of the three main events. Regardless of what I believe in terms of whether that’s right or wrong, it did make me wonder who, if you went by TV time since the preceding year, “deserved” to be on the card and how prominent that spot should be. So I decided to figure it out for next year’s Wrestlemania.
So, I’ve been thinking about starting a website with a few different features recently; I want to start doing annotations of comic books, as well as tracking some wrestling statistics that I think are actually relevant in today’s wrestling landscape–I can’t promise I’ll be as regular as I’d like to be right now, but I’m going to give it a shot.
Additionally, I’ll maybe post about other random pop culture topics from time to time as well. If anyone ends up reading this, I hope you enjoy!
